I'm not hugely into buying expensive sexy underwear only because I'm a practical gal when it comes to the undergarment area. To be honest, if I have to splash out, I'm a lot more comfortable with girly/pretty labels like Myla or Coco de Mer if I really want to go all out. This is in contrast to Agent Provocateur which is quite a bit more risque for my tastes. So it was very intriguing when I heard British knitwear designer John Smedley was doing a range of knitted underwear for Agent Procavateur, a collaboration that sounds so bizarre
However the results seem to say otherwise. It comprises two collections called French Maid and Skater Girl. The French Maid collection has a mini dress, sweater, with matching black and white underwear. The Skater Girl range has a leotard, short sleeved top, with matching underwear in pink, black and fuchsia.
From the pictures, so UN-risque do they look that one would think it's outerwear and certainly it's something I'd wear on the outside. The 'pin-up' girl theme that Agent Provocateur like to play on in their normal ranges has been diluted to a much milder and playful level that perhaps they are tapping into a different segment of the market, for scaredy-cats like me.
