According to today's London Paper, Giles Deacon is set to collaborate with British high street cheapie chain New Look (a store where everyone seems to find something good except me). Come March, the range entitled 'Gold' will have jackets, dresses, shoes and accessories designed by Deacon, featuring his signature prints. It seems high-low design partnerships are the way forward and everyone is eager to take a piece of the growing cake. I'm personally sitting on the fence about whether this is a good or a bad thing as when a designer cheapens himself/herself for the sake of a few bucks, it's catastrophe but when it's executed well and makes perfect design sense, then it's pure genius and of course fantastic for the budget conscious fashion freaks. I'll await with baited breath for this particular partnership.
