Hong Kong sure has some funny denim. I mean denim that I would honestly laugh out loud at. Take these two examples. We have the Evisu jeans with so many pockets and so many logos that it's hard to concentrate on one particular area. Evisu in general doesn't really rock my world but I feel that the sole purpose of wearing these jeans is to say 'Hey look over here - can you see? I'm wearing Evisu! Just look at my back. Count those logos damnit!'
Then we have the jeans with one HEAVILY embroidered leg. A forty something woman was wearing these on the MTR. I literally could not stop staring at them. There's just so...much....going....on. Flowers, butterflies, sequins, embroidery, paisley. I think I even saw fish swimming around on her leg as well. Those things might sound lovely but all meshed up together with denim is just a tad jarring. She was also wearing some kind of cartoon-covered sweater on top as well with the matching heavily embroidered denim jacket.
Call me unimaginative but both pairs of jeans was just a little too much for my simple-plain-denim tastes.
