I've been a little bit besotted with the idea of extended bras verging on a crop top to wear over t-shirts/vests (my collection of AA grey tri-blend jersey racerback vests are my shield, preventing the exposure of a tum that likes crackling and roast potatoes way too much, to all and sundry....).
Even better when contrasted with chunky protective knits so Clare Tough's A/W 09 collection is right up my bra-under-chunky-cardi alley. She's designed a capsule collection of lingerie in appropriate non-sheeny fabrics in grey and nude. The underwear as outwear potential is vast especially with the elastic panelling.
It is all a bit "I'm nochalently looking sexy in my boudoir..." but that said, given the right accessories, bras, stockings, big pants and oversized knits can definitely venture out into the sunlight...
Undies aside, Clare Tough's collection can reign supreme in a winter season apt for knitwear and the addition of lattice beaded dresses, jumpsuits and trench-capes only makes the Tough gal even more desirable to emulate. There's a substantiality to the knitwear that is also balanced out with more delicate affairs, the obvious being the underwear but it's also evident in the flash of flesh at the back, the nicely snug fit and the impression that Tough is eager for girls to step out in a knitted dress and not much else.
I'm also glad that upon a quick Google search, Tough is now stocked in a number of places and has even gone to menswear lengths with some brilliant subtle patchwork cardis.
