This is a story about pleats... and gloves... and my current love of all things mid-calf... and about new bits and bobs that I've acquired. This is the most incoherent story you'll ever know. The gist of it is that I've got no real point to this post other than I'm liking tight Fortuny-esque pleats...and things that go past my knees... and gloves... and hats... oh here we go again... the pointless-ness of it all! There's no way about the fact that there's nothing to this other than some brightly coloured outfits...
I wore this outfit out on Sunday to do a bit of filming on Brick Lane (all will be revealed...I think) and it comprises a few things really... gloves, mid-calf pleats etc etc...A sheer DKNY top that I bought from one of the newly focused TK Maxx stores in Putney Bridge that gets in more good stuff than others...The shoes I got from Beacon's Closet in New York that my friend thinks are the ugliest things ever and should not see daylight but I thought differently (well they saw cloudy rainy daylight which is good enough...)...a hat from Manila-based designer Mich Dulche that matches just so with...a Rika printed scarf/shawl that I will be coming with me on flights...
(Mich Dulche hat, DKNY sheer black top, vintage purple pleated dress, H&M gloves, H&M sheer ruched leggings, vintage platform shoes, Rika scarf)
Whilst out, I went to The Shop on Cheshire Street, where I got the vintage purple Fortuny-esque pleated dress and picked up another vintage pleated dress, this time with a pleat and a neat assymetrical neckline. I also picked up some red suede gloves to match with the red knitted hat that I wore when I was about seven. Let me repeat; pleats, gloves, mid-calf... it's all making sense, no? It's all connected and not at all randomly pulled together... right?
(Vintage red knitted hat, sheer black embroidered top from UpMarket, vintage pleated printed dress, Acne shoes, vintage red suede gloves)

CUTIE cutie! i love the acne shoes- and the tights in the first pics.. have a great tuesday inspirational girl!

I have to say, as great (and random) as your story was, you lost my attention at the Mich Dulche hat. Soooooo pretty, and looks so good in your hair! Love it.

Love the perfect colours of the blue and pink! I also lust all the sheer tops you find! I must say I agree with your friend on the hollogram shoes, but then they are hollogram shoes and so also slightly fab!

The sheer fabrics look really nice over the pleated dresses. The long black gloves are awesome too. I'm not sure what I think about the shoes from Beacon's Closet, the shape of the heel is throwing me off a bit.

Ok, I WANT THOSE ACNE BOOTIES. Actually, the entire vintage pleated purple print dress outfit is brilliant. Gloves are great...and practical- it's flu season! heehee.
I love how you always incorporate vintage piece in your outfits. If you ever see anything you want in my shop, send me a message & I'll give you a discount. xoxo

I love the pleats, the gloves, the hats... too! But what I really love and find inspiring is how you pull the colors together. I never thought of mid-calf as whimsical, and now I do!

Susie, the colors of the gloves just pop, and I love how the mid-calf length makes your entire body even more slender. Brilliant as usual.

The fact that your shoes made me search for and then watch Groove is in the Heart automatically means your outfit is excellent. I mean...who could NOT be in a good mood after that...!

I still can't believe how good those platforms are. Going to go listen to Bowie now...

Oh wow. That purple and blue combination is so sumptuous that I want to whip my oil paints out. Maybe acrylics so i can go brighter. So refreshing after so much grays here in paris; i love the aesthetic, but it's a reminder of home, y'know?
Amazing.
It's amazing the evolution of this blog. I love going through the archives to when you started up and i was first reading, and then comparing. It's like you suddenly rocketlaunched!
