>> A neat box landed in my little mail cubby hole today that very neatly links up with my last jewel-hunting post.  So Urban Outfitters (the US one that keeps churning out pretty fantastic designer collaborations ALL the bleedin' time…) has launched its Jewelry Studio (the only time you'll see me spelling it THAT way…) and it has been live on site for a while now.  I don't think strictly speaking the pieces on sale from the ten jewellery designers featured are special collaboration pieces for UO, but some are exclusive me thinks.  What I didn't know that it had a beautiful physical look book that accompanied it shot by a mystery person who doesn't seem to be credited.  I only ask because UO seems to have a wonderful tradition of producing great odes to the printed medium with a stellar list of photographers who have shot their lookbooks over the years – Lina Scheynius, Hasisi Park, Tim Barber, Stephen Shore

So it seems natural that these images, produced as thick cut postcards and bounded by a singular elastic band should have some sort of a credit on them.  I'd hazard a guess but I could be totally off the mark what with the number of photographers that are abound with this style of shooting 'girl meets world meets sun'.

Oh yes, and a double thumbs up to the jewellery designer selection that span a lot of the popular aesthetics that have come to pass in jewellery 'trends' as it were and in a similar vein to Topshop's EDIT, it's good to see mainline collections sitting alongside more affordable offerings in UO…

**EDIT** I knew the mystery would be a short-lived one… the photographer is Kava Gorna who unsurprisingly has a photo blog that also happens to have outtakes from this very shoot…like a Sabrina Dehoff rope necklace in amongst some juicy rambutan…

  1. the jewellry and the photography are beautiful. Even though I probably wouldn’t have guessed it was for UO, it doesn’t look like your typical jewellry lookbook. And I agree, the US UO always has the dopest collabo’s (well the dopest everything tbh, have you seen their little gadgets?).

  2. at times Susie I wonder why you don’t write for every magazine I love, but then I realize its because the content you spew just comes at 100 miles per hour. I love this post, the photography and layout they did are gorgeous and just amplify the jewelry without taking away from the design. this has me thinking of a new layout for my own blog.
    xxoo love

  3. aaahh! rambutan! i’ve been looking for them everywhere in the states but haven’t been able to find them. i LONG for a rambutan!

  4. Rings in first two shots are amazing! Colors are so rich! I’d love to adorn my fingers in them!
The shots with jewellery and fruits-flowers are so gorgeous! They’re sort of little bit too much but so inviting!

  5. Beautiful shoot. Blog inspired or blog inspiring – I can’t decide.
These days I’m actually practicing ‘girl meets world meets sun’ 😉

  6. I am a closet Urban Outfitter catalog freak, mainly because the photography is sooo good. It’s nice to have some validation. Nice post.

  7. Maybe We cannot change the inevitable. But the only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. Did you agree with me? Posed By gucci shoes
