>> Apologies if this is coming a little late notice but what started out as a yard sale that was happening in the courtyard/carpark outside my building with some of my crap laid out on the concrete has now grown into a much bigger fish thanks to a suggestion by Zara of Geisha Rock on Twitter to open up the sale to other UK/London bloggers so they can sell their crap too. Actually, I shouldn't speak for the other bloggers as to whether what they're lugging up to my N7 gaff is crap or not. They could be hawking many mighty gems... if anything, you can meet the following and say 'Hello!'... Shini of Park and Cube, Stevie of Discotheque Confusion, Nadia of Frou Frouu, Fi of Save our Shoes, Laetitia of Mademoiselle Robot, Kit of Style Slicker, Zara of Geisha Rock and err... oh yeah... the other half, Steve of Style Salvage who has a few bits for any bored boyfriends who may want to loiter...
With regards to my own crap, I haven't finished the clearing out process but to my mind, there will be designer, high street and vintage... Eley Kishimoto dress, Lanvin skirt, a Phillip Lim coat, a John Richmond jacket, Georgina Goodman shoes to name a few out of around 100 items me thinks... in addition, I've got mags (some Japanese ones...) and other bits and pieces. Whilst not everything will be under a tenner, most will be. Maximum price will be £30 on anything I'm selling.
I'll leave the other bloggers to expand upon what they'll be bringing to the 'yard'...
But the most exciting part I think is the food aspect! Please do bypass Greggs on the way to my house and instead feast upon the following... Tommy from This is Naive very kindly agreed to make chicken satay on the BBQ, should the sun smile upon us. Her friend Alison of Popcorn Stories who has some famed green tea cookies will be baking up a storm as well for the sale. We'll also have some *ahem* burly men bunging some bangers on the BBQ for sausage baps. I'll try and have some drinks prepped but feel free to bring your own. You'll need to bring some pocket money for the food...
If it turns into more of a blogger/reader meet-up so be it but just to add, what doesn't sell will go to charity shops pronto or erm... the wheely bins!
Now let's all pray for sun...
**EDIT** Someone has already asked whether they can bring stuff to sell too. I'm a little bit unsure about 10+ ppl selling which is why I only asked a few bloggers (there wasn't a selection process... just the ones I thought of, off the top of my head!) to join in because it is a private courtyard and not really a public space... don't want it to be too chaotic. I think if you have a few things to sell, perhaps - but please email me first as it really isn't possible for it to be a free-for-all market... unless you want me evicted!
As for making an online store for those that aren't in London - alas, just organising this physical sale is a bit of a ball ache and given that I'm in and out of the country a lot at the moment an online store would be a bit ambitiious. Apologies to non-Londoners... but hey, isn't it nice to do the face-to-face thing from time to time, and not hide behind emails, Paypal carts and post office visits...
