...however, I'm now a-prints-a-plenty in the shoe department when I went to the Chris Benz presentation and saw these offerings, a collaboration with Alejandro Ingelmo. There's sort of Erdem x Nicholas Kirkwood vibe going on here that's aided of course by the vibrant floral prints but Ingelmo's rounded wedge shape cutesifies the overall look because the toe is so round and the platform, so hidden and high. Purists will love the nude and black woven offerings but print-lovers will have to choose between some choice florals... oh and there happens to be a pair of blue floral trews that match the blue wedges if that helps/hinders things (more about the presentation later...
Due to a scheduling mishap I didn't make it to Julian Louie's presentation but a reader did point out the Aldo x Julian Louie shoe collab and fortunately I ran into some peeps from Aldo yesterday at the Rad by Rad Hourani show (they also did his shoes too... black slitty leather with a square heel... will definitely sell out in a flash...), who I had met in Montreal where they are based. There are seven styles altogether for Julian Louie's collaboration and they will all be going into production so it will make for an affordable shoe collab option considering that Julian Louie is a relatively young designer. Again, it's a tricky picky question with which Ikat weave combo to go for...
