>> My trip to Beijing, tacked on at the end of five weeks of Australia-Japan-Thailand-China travelling was brief and unfortunately somewhat wasted because I underestimated the infamous traffic that locks the city into a constant gridlock, rendering it impossible to see all the things i originally wanted to see. Still, my primary motive for getting lost in this square formation for a few days was for Armani's big Beijing shindig. Last night was the culmination of Armani's Beijing outing, following many other mega brands who are eager to get a slice of the ever-expanding Chinese pie. Thoughts on this pie unfolded through Armani's inaugural Tweet Talks, which took place today on Twitter.
I'll be expanding on this fashion superpower talk and the night itself when I've flopped into my own bed and have gotten five cups of tea down my thread. For now, I'll fill you in on a brave effort at trying to blend in with the background for fear that any more dose of high octane colour or print would seem somewhat out of sync with the largely monochrome dress code as befitting an Armani event. I say brave effort, because pattern, courtesy of a cable print silk Rachel Comey "Acoma" dress and colour, from a pair of Balenciaga shoes and my smooshy lips, were still present. Monochrome memos don't penetrate so well.
