>> The H&M juggernaut rolls on from their splashy Paris show debut (most extravagant set of the season is normally a crown that Chanel holds, but H&M actually held their own with their 20-something roomed salon), their new chain & Other Stories opening around Europe (I've yet to actually go in yet but a review is definitely imminent...) and now the Oxford Circus store, which in recent years has been bested in favour of the wide store front of the Regent Street branch, has now been given a complete make-over, rebranded and refitted as the London H&M flagship store. The folks at H&M want the launch to be fuelled by public participation and so I've been asked to kick off launch proceedings tomorrow, together with Nick Grimshaw.
I've styled the windows and the mannequins inside and will be in-store between 1pm-2.30pm and 6pm-7.30pm tomorrow for a bit of a meet n' greet. Or if we've already met, then feel free to come on down and shout at me for being a crap friend. I doubt any of you need me to foist "style" advice on you but come on down and let's chat, exchange tips on how to get spaghetti stains out of tops or indeed, have a gander together at what H&M-ers has in-store at the moment (lots of Delft-pottery blues it seems, if you want to start channeling Valentino A/W 13 already). The first 500 people let into the store gets a 25% dizzy so I'm guessing that will be done and dusted within the first hour but there'll be other musical fun and games throughout the day and the rest of the weekend. Let's par-tay like it's errr... an awkward circa. 1995 school disco.
